WHAT IS NISA?
The National Independent Soccer Association (NISA) was founded in 2017 with the mission to bring professional soccer to every city in the United States. A pro league member of U.S. Soccer, NISA focuses on a model based on meritocracy, independent clubs controlling their own league, clubs owning their intellectual property, all without the barrier of territorial rights.
In pursuit of their mission, NISA’ created NISA Nation, an amateur to pro pathway for both players AND clubs to make the jump to the next level. NISA is in the middle of adding amateur clubs to the NISA Nation ranks for the Spring of 2022. NISA Nation is able to build this system by partnering with affiliate leagues, such as Cascadia, as a way to bring clubs and players along up through the levels based on sporting merit. Cascadia fits well into the NISA Nation ethos as a promotion/relegation system was implemented in 2019.
Cascadia will receive two automatic spots in the NISA Independent Cup, an annual summer tournament that takes place throughout the nation.
